يحتاج الإنسان لزراعة أسنان بدل أسنانه التالفة أو المفقودة، ويلجأ البعض لتركيب أسنان صناعية، أو شد الأسنان بالذهب والفضة؛ إذ يعد الذهب من أفضل المعادن التي لا تتغير  ويفضل الأطباء تركيبه في الأسنان الخلفية لتحمله الضغط مع تركيب أسنان من معادن أخرى كالفضة والبلاتنيوم وغير ذلك، ويأتي هذا البحث ليسلط الضوء على هذه المسألة من الناحية الفقهية لبيان الأحكام المتعلقة بهذه المسألة  لاتخاذ الرجال والنساء الأسنان من الذهب والفضة. وتكمن أهمية البحث في معرفة الحكم الشرعي في شد الأسنان واتخاذها من الذهب للرجال والنساء، وهي من المسائل المنتشرة في هذا العصر، ومعرفة حكم الزينة والتحلى بالذهب للرجال والنساء، وهي من الأمور التي يجهلها الكثير من الناس، وكثرة المسائل المتعلقة بتجميل الأسنان بالذهب والفضة، والوقوف على آراء الفقهاء وجمعها وإظهارها بشكل مختصر واضح ليسهل الرجوع إليها، ويهدف البحث إلى جمع المسائل الخاصة بشد الأسنان واتخاذها من الذهب، وعرض المسائل لاستعمال الذهب والفضة بالأسنان بشكل سلس وواضح ليسهل  لأهل الشأن من  أطباء الأسنان  والمهتمين بمعرفة الأحكام الفقهية الاطلاع عليها، وبيان الأحكام الفقهية التي تتعلق بشد الأسنان بالذهب عند الرجال والنساء.
